Project Trans — MENA is a free and open transgender knowledge and resources directory for transgender individuals from the Middle East and North Africa.

Our mission

Many transgender people in the MENA region live where transition-related healthcare is unavailable, unaffordable, or unsafe to ask for. Our goal is to gather — in one accessible, translated place — the knowledge and community resources that help people transition safely and on their own terms.

Knowledge is our weapon, existence is our rebellion.

Languages

The directory is available in English, Arabic (العربية), Latin Tamaziɣt, and Tifinagh (ⵜⴰⵎⴰⵣⵉⵖⵜ). The Tifinagh edition is generated automatically from the Latin Tamaziɣt edition using a character-transliteration map, so the two always stay in sync.

Open and community-built

This project is open source. It builds on the work of community projects including hrt.info, the DIY HRT Directory, and the Awesome Trans portal.

Contributions, corrections, and translations are welcome on Codeberg.
